I completely and utterly get it. I wasn't always a Therapist.
For over 20 years I was a corporate hard hitter, a high-flying businesswoman, a Top 100 Exec leader earning six-figures in a huge national company, leading 600+ people, and being responsible for hundreds of millions of pounds. It was one of the biggest jobs of its kind in the UK.
Then eight years ago my body told me loud and clear, burnout was happening.
Enough was enough. I knew if I wanted to change my health I needed to start showing up for myself.
Wellness is not a single event. Nor is it a single therapy. Wellness is a way of life. It is an ongoing investment, which only gives you a return when you take responsibility for it, like you would your business or your job.
SIMILAR IS NOT SAME.
When it comes to the wellness of your body, your mind, and your emotions, what works for someone else might not work for you, because they are not living in your body, with your exact history, your exact circumstances and your exact signs and symptoms. Similar is not SAME.
Let me give you an example of someone with overwhelming daily fatigue who wanted to get fit and took up high-intensity workouts to do so. Because that’s what “Karen” did, and it worked for her. And it is what you read about everywhere. But if you have overwhelming fatigue, expecting your body to cope with the pressure of a HIT class is a bit like constantly whacking a bruise and expecting it to get better.

DO YOU INVEST IN YOUR FAMILY, YOUR BUSINESS, YOUR HOME BEFORE YOU INVEST IN YOURSELF?
It is a fact that so many of us invest readily and without guilt in our businesses, and our homes, our kids, even in our cars and clothes because we know it is important for their long-term return, profitability, sustainability, maintenance, not to mention pride. But a lot of us don’t do the same for our physical, mental, and emotional health.
Why is this? Guilt? Embarrassment? Shame? Lethargy? Denial? Too difficult? No time? Something else?
What if you invested in yourself?
Lots of people I work with start out in the same position as you are right now, feeling the way you do about your body and your wellness. The little itty bitty shi**y committee sitting on your shoulder nagging away telling you “should” do a million things to change your wellness. But none of them are working for you.
We need to be honest about what we want and how we want to do it. Being a green-juicing-bendy-Wendy is not high on everyone's wish list after all.
If it doesn’t work, there is a reason, and I would put my house on it being something to do with alignment with your goals and lifestyle. And until you understand these, nothing will change.
If we invested in ourselves in the same way as we do our businesses and our possessions, we should expect to see a return which reaps even greater rewards because we would have more energy and focus to be more productive, more focussed, more present, and more motivated!
We will live in our bodies a lot longer than we will live with our businesses.

I went to see Kate a couple of months ago when my back simply became too bad. Following an accident as a child and years of horse riding, it has never been great and something I learned to put up with. I decided enough was enough and made an appointment. My anxiety and sleep have improved massively
Following our treatment, my anxiety which was on about 8 on a score of ten is now about 4- honestly it is amazing. I didn’t end up having my medication review because I forgot and now I don’t think I will bother as my anxiety has dropped so much. Also sleeping again. I feel so much calmer. It feels wonderful. In awe absolutely! I trusted that we would get somewhere, I really did but wow. So quickly, it did feel powerful yesterday. I slept all the way through and I’ve woken in shock not to be soaking and uncomfortable. Bloody amazing lady.
