I HEAR YOU

I completely and utterly get it.  Because for years I tried doing what everyone else did to manage my horrendous periods, to manage my fatigue and my various post athletics career injuries.  And I when I tried to get pregnant – it was a nightmare.  Nothing worked.  It made me worse.  Things only started changing for me when I got insight into WHY my fatigue was not responding to the HIIT classes or the deep tissue massages, which hurt more than they healed.  Or why the baby was never going to arrive if I kept running my body on empty.

SIMILAR IS NOT SAME.

I get so bored of rinse and repeat methods advertising the latest miracle solution to get people "fit and healthy".  It didn't work for me, it doesn't work for my clients.  And it is unlikely to work for you.

The reality is, when it comes to the wellness of your body, your mind and your emotions, what works for someone else might not work for you, because they are not living in your body, with your exact history, your exact circumstances and your exact signs and symptoms.  Similar is not SAME.

Let me give you an example of the woman with overwhelming daily fatigue who wants to get fit and took up high intensity workouts to do so.  Because that’s what “Karen” did, and it worked for her.  And it is what unimaginative social norms tell you to do.  But if you have overwhelming fatigue, expecting your body to cope with the pressure of a HIIT class is a bit like constantly whacking a bruise and expecting it to get better.

So it’s time to work on who YOU are.  To understand your unique Balance. And to find a realistic solution which will help you achieve your wellness goals, through an alternative approach to health and wellbeing.

If you want to change the outcome, you need to change the approach.

You can understand your body in a different way to level up your wellness.  A way which has been around for thousands of years and is totally accepted in so many cultures across the Globe but often totally misunderstood in our own, but which is also becoming more and more mainstream.

We can choose to let our hormones, health issues, aches and pains, the lines and wrinkles that come with the ageing process define us and dictate our wellness path.  Or we can choose to honour our bodies – they have served us well. We can choose to take back control of our bodies, our minds, and our emotions to find another way to show up as the beautiful, strong women we truly are. And let me tell you when we feel like that when we discover that new path, everything changes.

That’s when we go from feeling like moths to feeling like butterflies.  You can be more.

DO YOU INVEST IN YOUR FAMILY, YOUR BUSINESS, YOUR HOME BEFORE YOU INVEST IN YOURSELF?

It is a fact that so many of us invest readily and without guilt in our businesses, and our homes, our kids, even in our cars and clothes because we know it is important for their long-term return, profitability, sustainability, maintenance, not to mention pride.  But a lot of us don’t do the same for our physical, mental, and emotional health.

Why is this?  Guilt?  Embarrassment?  Shame? Lethargy?  Denial?  Too difficult?  No time? Something else?

What if you invested in yourself?

Whatever the reasons, and no judgement here, here’s something to think about.  If we invested in ourselves in the same way as we do our businesses and our possessions, we should expect to see a return which reaps even greater rewards because we would have more energy and focus to be more productive, more focussed, more present, and more motivated!

We will live in our bodies a lot longer than we will live with our businesses.

You will only ever profit from a decent investment in your own health and wellbeing.

Lots of women I work with start out in the same position as you are right now, feeling the way you do about your body and your wellness.  The little itty bitty shi**y committee sitting on your shoulder nagging away telling you “should” do a million things to change your wellness.  But none of them are working for you.

If it doesn’t work, there is a reason, and I would put my house on it being something to do with your unique physical, mental and emotional self.  And until you understand this, nothing will change.

HI, I'M KATE...ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF

hello...thanks for reading this far.  You already sound like my sort of person, and hopefully, I am yours too.

A few words about me...I am a perfectly imperfect nature-loving outdoorsy mum to a small person and a fur baby.  I love red wine and tea and a good book.  I'm ex-corporate executive and found my own wellness path after a story of stress and infertility.

That's why I am now a passionate Educator of others who are on their own Wellness Paths.  I do this in my clinic in beautiful North Wales, and online with people who can't reach me in person.  And in my writing in various publications too.  I believe in lifelong learning too, so I class myself as both a Student and a Teacher to like-minded individuals who are committed to improving their health and wellbeing through achievable steps taken every single day.

I am an advocate of wellbeing practices and natural therapies to treat anything from skin damage to stress and anxiety.   Healthcare needs to become about prevention as well as cure.  Possessing qualifications in Eastern philosophies to health as well as education in "conventional" health approaches, I believe in having an open mind to different routes to wellbeing.  In my opinion, there is no single right way, and different people need different approaches to be their best selves in the body they were blessed with.

This is why I have devised my series of Retreats - to help people enjoy their bodies by understanding what it is they need to serve it best.
